Health Benefits of Green Tea


For over 3000 years, the Chinese have been using green tea to treat all sorts of ailments, such as headaches and gastronomic problems. With a growing number of scientific data, there is no doubt that green tea is as essential for maintaining good health.

The secret to green tea lies in its rich source of anti-oxidants and polyphenols. Both are essential components for maintaining human body functions. Green tea is an even greater source of anti-oxidants than broccoli or strawberries. Here is a list of the top five benefits of green tea:

1. Fights cancer

Green tea has been proven to shrink tumors and extend the lifespan of those with dire physical ailments. It has been scientifically proven to kill cancer cells.

2. Lowers cholesterol levels

Scientists believe the high levels of polyphenols in green tea aids in lowering the cholesterol levels of patients who have had little success with conventional medication.

3. Fights tooth decay

Green tea's bacteria-destroying abilities not help prevent food poisoning, it can also kill the bacteria that causes dental plaque.

4. Lowers chance of heart disease

Large amounts of polyphenols have been found to reverse the negative effects of smoking or a fatty diet (two common factors which lead to heart disease).

5. Promotes weight loss
